JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Former Harpeth standout Mandy Mendenhall will transfer to Carson-Newman for the 2008-'09 season, C-N head coach Dean Walsh announced today. Mendenhall will have three years of eligibility remaining. She played in 29 games as a freshman last season at Tennessee Tech, starting one. "Mandy should make an immediate impact to our program," says Walsh. "She is an athletic guard who can get to the lane and shoot the three. She has good speed and quickness to play the two or three spot and also an uncanny ability to find the open player. We are very excited to add Mandy and her family to our program." The Kingston Springs, Tenn. native was a four-year starter and three-time District MVP at Harpeth. She also played in the Tennessee East-West All-Star Game her senior year. At Tennessee Tech, Mendenhall turned in a season-high 11 points and eight rebounds in a win over Austin Peay. She also had 10 points and four boards against Middle Tennessee State, who reached the NCAA Tournament. The Lady Eagles were 15-14 last season, and finished third in the South Atlantic Conference.
