Allyson Corhn enters her first season as an assistant at
Carson-Newman after wrapping up her playing career with the Eagles
in 2008.
Corhn, a four-year contributor as a setter for C-N from 2005-08,
was a captain in 2007 and 2008 and was also named team MVP in 2008.
Corhn was second on the team in assists last season with 723 and
had 182 digs in helping lead the Eagles to their first NCAA
Tournament berth since 2002.
Corhn, who also ran track for C-N from 2008-09, was a standout in
the classroom as well, earning ESPN Scholar Athlete of the Year and
C-N Female Scholar Athlete of the Year nominations.
Coaching is nothing new to the Hendersonville, N.C., native as she
has spent time as a coach with three club volleyball teams. Corhn
coached one year with the Winning in Christ team in North Carolina,
two years with the Lakeway Volleyball Club in Jefferson City and
two years with the East Tennessee Advance Volleyball Club in
Jefferson City.
Corhn, a native of Hendersonville, N.C., and a 2009 graduate of
Carson-Newman with a bachelor's degree in physical eduation, is
currently working on a master's degree in education at C-N. She
resides in Jefferson City.
